Extreme weather conditions (Carbon Brief)

There is growing evidence that human activity increases the risk of certain types of extreme weather conditions, including those related to heat.

“How does climate change affect extreme weather conditions around the world?” is an interactive map provided by Carbon Brief, a website that covers various issues in climate science, climate and energy policy. The map shows 260 extreme weather events around the world for which scientists have conducted attribution studies. The different symbols indicate the type of extreme weather; for example, a heat wave, flood or drought.

The map currently includes 42 extreme weather events occurred in Europe.
