Pupils per teacher in Europe

The OECD has addressed this theme in the context of the “Education at a Glance: Pupil/teacher ratios and average class size”. From early childhood to secondary education, data are available for the year 2016.

At the early childhood level, for example, there are significant disparities between countries, with France having 1 teacher for every 22.6 pupils compared to 7.8 pupils in Germany.
