Measuring Cancer in Europe (Ecis)

It is called the European Cancer Information System and is a web app on which it is possible to explore data on cancer diseases in EU countries. The site aggregates data from the various national cancer registries and other statistics, such as estimates in terms of incidence, mortality and survival, as well as historical data.

All the collected data can then be explored through an interactive dashboard that can filter by type of cancer, region, or other types of data.

The purpose of the application is to facilitate the exploration and visualization of the current available data and indicators related to cancer diseases. The database is equipped with resources such as a user manual and glossary that make it easy for non-experts and journalists to use. The project is part of a collaboration between the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and the Health and Food Safety Department of the European Commission.
