Global Forest Resources Assessment 2015

This document, published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, provides a current overview of the state of the world’s forest resources. It also analyses the main changes observed between 1990 and 2015. Data is available for 234 countries and territories.

The analyses are based on 155 national reports by correspondents appointed by government agencies. Some of them also come from theoretical studies by the FAO, based on estimates of forest statistics. Among the indicators in the report are the area of natural forests, the biomass stock in forests, etc.

This regularly updated data is crucial for investment, but also for policy development in forestry and sustainable development.
