Companies and human rights promotion (Vigeo Eiris)

Since 2016, Vigeo Eiris has published an annual study and ranking of companies’ actions in favour of human rights .

More than 4,500 companies in 60 countries are evaluated. “The rating reveals significant disparities between the subjects, principles and objectives on which companies choose to engage,” says the social rating agency. It adds that “nine of the top ten countries are European, while at the bottom of the ranking are mainly South-East Asian countries”.

In Europe, no fewer than 1,500 controversies have been identified concerning the behaviour of companies on the market (i.e. the violation of human rights at some point in their supply chain).
