Suicides around the world (WHO)

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 24. According to WHO, one person commits suicide every 40 seconds around the world.

Every year, since 2015, the World Health Organization (WHO) has taken stock of suicides around the world. The latest report , published online on September 9, 2019, concludes that despite declining numbers, one person commits suicide every 40 seconds. 

Thus the WHO is calling for public action , encouraging all countries to combat this phenomenon through prevention, support for mental health and reduction of the means of suicide.
