The EU Clinical Trials Register is a service offered by the European Medicine Agency.
The EU Clinical Trials Register provides access to a database (the EudraCT database) containing information on interventional clinical trials on medicines conducted in the European Union or the European Economic Area (and in some cases outside of the EU) up until May 1st, 2004.
Data on trials is provided by the company or organization responsible for the clinical trial, and it is then loaded on the EudraCT database by the national competent authority along with further information (such as authorizations and opinions from the relevant ethics committee).
As of November 2019, the database contains 36.123 clinical trials with a EudraCT protocol, of which 5.939 are clinical trials conducted with subjects less than 18 years old; it also displays information on 18.700 older pediatric trials. Data is downloadable through the EudraCT database in the .txt format.
