Unemployment is declining more in Portugal than in the EU

The unemployment rate was 6.7 percent in Portugal in June 2018, compared to 7.9 percent in December 2017. In the same period the unemployment in the European Union has decreased from 7.3 percent to 6.9 percent. 

This means that Portugal has seen a more positive development than the EU: in December 2017 the unemployment rate was 0.6 percent units higher in Portugal than in the European Union, now it is 0.2 percent units lower.
