The number of asylum applicants from Pakistan to the European Union is declining

New data shows a declining trend in asylum seekers from Pakistan in the EU. 

New data from Eurostat shows a declining trend in asylum seekers from Pakistan in the European Union. At the end of July 495 citizens from Pakistan had pending asylum applications in the European Union, compared to for example October 2016 when 3,100 applied for asylum.

On average the European Union has seen 1,995 asylum applications from Pakistan per month since 2008.

Among the countries in the European Union Germany received the most asylum applications from Pakistan, 250 in July, while Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, and Norway received fewest (0 applications).
