The number of asylum applicants from Guinea to the EU is declining

New data from Eurostat shows a declining trend in asylum seekers from Guinea in the European Union. At the end of May 2018 284 citizens from Guinea had pending asylum applications in the EU, compared to for example October 2017 when 1,335 applied for asylum.

On average the European Union has seen 651 asylum applications from Guinea per month since 2008.

Among the countries in the European Union Germany received the most asylum applications from Guinea, 200 in May 2018, while Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, and Slovenia received the fewest (0 applications).
