The confidence of retail businesses is decreasing more rapidly in Italy than in the EU
In October 2018 the confidence of retail businesses in Italy decreased significantly compared to the same month last year, down from 14.3 to 2.6 points.
In the same period of time, the confidence of retail businesses in the EU has decreased slightly, down from 3.1 to 2.3 points on average.
Italy now has the eighth lowest confidence of retail businesses in the EU. Slovakia has the highest confidence (27.2 points), while Belgium ranks last (-17.5 points).
