New data from Eurostat shows an increase in the number of vacant jobs in industry and construction in Luxembourg. In the first quarter of 2018 the country reported a seasonally adjusted job vacancy rate of 0.8 percent, corresponding to 651 vacant jobs.
That is 0.1 percent units more than in the first quarter of 2017. It is also the highest recorded level in more than ten years.
In the whole European Union the job vacancy rate in industry and construction in the first quarter of 2018 was 2.0 percent, which is about the the same as one year earlier.
