The GADM project provides spatial data for countries and their geographical administrative sub-divisions for academic and non-commercial use.
GADM provides maps and spatial data for all countries and their sub-divisions of administrative ares. GADM maps can be browsed or downloaded to make maps. GADM wants to map the administrative areas of all countries, at all levels of sub-division. GADM uses a high spatial resolution, and of an extensive set of attributes.
The data is available in formats readable with R, GDAL/OGR, ArcGIS, Q-GIS, DIVA-GIS, and Google Earth.
The data are freely available for academic use and other non-commercial use. Redistribution, or commercial use, is not allowed without prior permission from GADM.
