Following the stunning results of German federal election on September 24th, the Financial Times released a series of graphs highlighting key aspects in voters’ behaviour.

Among them, the sources of votes gained and lost by each party since 2013 election; a visual history of the Bundestag showing the development of this chamber in terms of its size (variable) and political parties represented in it; a series of static maps representing changes in the political geography of the country, showing how specific parties won or lost votes in each lander. Finally and interestingly, FT points to the inverse correlation existing between the increase of votes for the AfD in a given constituency and the increase of migrants in the same region.
