Lorenzo Ferrari

Born and raised in the Italian Alps, Lorenzo is a researcher at Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa. His main area of interest is European political integration – basically, the ways and extent in which European citizens and countries get closer and more interconnected with each other over time.

Lorenzo studied at the University of Bologna and made a PhD in the history of European integration, spending a couple of years around Europe. In 2016 he published a book about the EU countries' joint activity on the international stage. 

He has been working at OBC Transeuropa since spring 2017, contributing to the European Data Journalism Network; he coordinates OBC Transeuropa's data team since 2018. Lorenzo also collaborates with the Italian newspaper Il Post and with the Zanichelli publishing company.
