The number of asylum applicants from Bangladesh to the European Union is declining

New data from Eurostat shows a declining trend in asylum seekers from Bangladesh in the European Union.

New data from Eurostat shows a declining trend in asylum seekers from Bangladesh in the European Union. At the end of July 90 citizens from Bangladesh had pending asylum applications in the European Union, compared to for example May 2017 when 2,095 applied for asylum.

On average the European Union has seen 938 asylum applications from Bangladesh per month since 2008.

Among the countries in the European Union Germany received the most asylum applications from Bangladesh, 25 in July, while Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, and Poland received fewest (0 applications).
